How Anxiety Shows Up in Everyday Life

Anxiety – you know the feeling. Out of control, nonstop worrying, pit in your stomach. Maybe you’ve tried to manage it before and nothing has helped. You can’t live like this for another second. Feeling anxious all the time can be exhausting.  You might look calm on the outside, but inside, it’s like your thoughts never stop racing.

  • Difficulty focusing or making decisions

  • Feeling restless or “on edge”

  • Avoiding certain situations or people

  • Physical symptoms (racing heart, tight chest, upset stomach)

  • Trouble relaxing or sleeping

Anxiety doesn’t always look like panic attacks — sometimes it’s the quiet, constant pressure to hold everything together.

How anxiety therapy can provide relief

You need a change and you might be feeling desperate for relief.

I will be there every step of the way and create a custom plan for your struggles; I use studied treatments like Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, which studies have shown a  significant reduction in anxiety symptoms

Healing from anxiety is about rediscovering yourself. Over time, you’ll notice the anxious thoughts won’t have the hold on you that they used to. Together, we’ll build the tools and self-understanding that allow you to move forward with steadiness, clarity, and a sense of relief you’ve been needing.

Benefits of anxiety therapy

Anxiety therapy gives you more than just coping tools — it helps you understand what’s fueling your anxiety so you can respond with clarity and confidence instead of fear. Over time, therapy helps you rebuild a sense of safety in your body and trust in yourself, so you can move through life without being controlled by worry or self-doubt.

With anxiety therapy, you can:

  • Quiet racing thoughts and calm your nervous system

  • Reduce physical tension, panic, or restlessness

  • Break the cycle of overthinking and self-criticism

  • Improve focus, sleep, and emotional regulation

  • Feel more grounded and confident in everyday situations

  • Strengthen relationships by communicating more openly

  • Reconnect with the things and people that matter most to you

FAQs about anxiety therapy

What can anxiety therapy help with?

Anxiety therapy can help with racing thoughts, constant worry, physical tension, restlessness, overthinking, and difficulty relaxing. It’s also helpful for anxiety related to perfectionism, life transitions, work stress, or unresolved trauma. You’ll learn practical tools to manage anxiety and get to the root causes of what’s keeping you stuck.

How long does anxiety therapy take to work?

Everyone’s journey is different. Some people start to notice small shifts — like feeling more present or less reactive — after a few sessions, while others may need longer-term support to create lasting change. Together, we’ll check in regularly to make sure therapy is moving at a pace that feels right for you.

What type of therapy do you use for anxiety?

I use evidence-based approaches like Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These therapies help you process distressing experiences, shift unhelpful thought patterns, and build emotional flexibility so you can respond to anxiety with more calm and clarity.

Do you offer online anxiety therapy?

Yes! I offer online therapy for anxiety throughout Minnesota, so you can meet from the comfort of your home or office. Sessions are held through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform and are just as effective as in-person sessions for most clients.

Where are you located?

I offer in-person anxiety therapy in Eagan and upon request and weather permitting can do walk and talk therapy. Whether you prefer to meet in person or online, you’ll receive the same personalized support designed to help you feel grounded and at ease.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

If anxiety is affecting your sleep, focus, relationships, or overall peace of mind, therapy can help you find relief and rediscover balance. You don’t need to hit a breaking point to reach out — starting therapy is a powerful step toward taking care of yourself.

How do I get started?
